Camping and House Smells

So on Friday we headed out to the desert for our 1st trip of the season. DDT has made it quite clear that he doesn't like to spend extended amount of time in his car seat but we are going to have to figure out a way to deal with it.

Friday and Saturday brought awesome weather but Saturday night the weather started to turn horrible. The wind started to kick up, the rain fell for a brief time, and lightning danced around the sky. Sunday was a day filled with colllllddddd wind and we didn't spend that much time outside of the trailers. At one point, DDT fell down some steps in the Plumber's trailer and received a nice rug burn on his nose. He kinda looks like Rudolph the Red Nose reindeer. I am working on getting a picture.

We ended up leaving on Monday and made it back around 2:30 or so to find the smell in the house had not disappeared. Panda decided to go get some masks and gloves so that we could remove whatever was causing this horrible smell.

As Panda held the trashbags, I cut away the heater ducts and in one duct, we found was seemed to be animal "poop". What type of animal, we were not sure but the smell was coming from this "poop". After we removed several ducts, Panda noticed that the rats had chewed through my tackle box. The tackle box is a hard plastic and they ate through it like it was paper. Once I saw that, it hit me. The "poop" was actually catfish bait. The rats had gotten the stinky catfish bait out of the tackle box and dragged it up to the ducts. Mystery solved!! We still do not have a heater but the smell has finally gone away!
