The Bet.....

So Panda and I have a bet and the prize is a dandy. Starting Tuesday, I am on a quest to lose 30 lbs. My goal is to lose this 30 lbs by December 14th. Should I fail to lose this weight, Panda gets a 3 day weekend break to do whatever he wishes. I said only stipulation was no whores. If I win (actually I should say, "When I win..") I get a 3 day weekend break. That's right, the losing person has to watch DDT from Friday morn to Sunday evening. The winning person can do anything they want within reason and nothing that will break the bank.

I am already picturing a weekend of wine tasting with Kiki.

So starting Tuesday, September 2nd, I will start posting my progress, before pic, gripes and bitchin'.

Wish me luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I Love The Fact....

that, when asked and sometimes without being asked, DDT puts trash in the trash can. And the trash can is a stainless steel one where you have to step on the foot thing in order for it to open. At Grammy and Papa's house he puts trash directly into the "big" trash can.

Now I am going to work on DDT cleaning his bedroom, doing his own laundry, washing my car.....okay, maybe not but can't a mom dream?

Another Angel Game, another loss....

Well we managed to get out of the house again to go to an Angel's game. The attendees were - Rabijay, Rabijay's lady friend, McLovin, McLovin's lady friend, Panda and me. Oh and how could I forget the rally monkey.

Enjoy the video and pics! Oh and sorry for the quality of pics, they were taken with Panda's cell phone.

I Just Don't Get It....

While driving on the freeway today, I noticed this P.O.S chugging beside me. I then noticed that the person driving also had a GPS suctioned to the windshield.

So:

1. I am shocked the windshield hasn't shattered to pieces because of the GPS suction.

2. Why not invest in a little mechanical work, the smoke coming out of your tailpipe is not a good thing.

3. Maybe they have GPS just to locate mechanics because I am shocked that the POS can drive any type of distance.

4. If that POS has one, why don't I?

Lets go Fly a Kite....

Panda had an urge to go buy a kite for DDT today. We went to a store just with kites and picked out a great pirate one. We took it to Top of the World and let it go. DDT had a great time for the 1st five minutes and then got distracted with everything else at the park. Go figure!!

After we flew the kite, a nice old villager with a dog lured DDT and I over. Of course, DDT was able to get away but not me, I was stuck there listening to the poor old villager lady talk about how she misses her own granddaughter, how she just got her carpet cleaned (it cost $650), how her daughter passed away in 2001, how she heard there is a flea infestation in the village (thank God Cooper (her dog) uses Advantage!) Luckily, I was able to get away when she decided it was getting to hot for Cooper and at that point I walked very nonchalantly to Panda and DDT. Panda can vouch for me on this - villagers LOVE to talk to me. I must have a sign on my forehead.

Earplugs on a 1-1/2 Year Old?

Seriously, I am getting to the point where I may try to put earplugs in DDT's ears when it is naptime. Our lovely house backs up to an alley. An alley where at any given time there are trash trucks loading the neighborhood trash, people yelling, cars alarms sounding off and construction workers making as much noise as possible in a 6 hour span.

At my folk's house, DDT sleeps from 2-3 hours and at Panda's folks' house he sleeps for 2 hours as well. At our house, it may top 1 to 1-1/2 hours. I am so frustrated with this and I have tried different things to drown out the noise but it never fails that once I hear a loud sound, i start to hear DDT stirring and then he starts talking.

I, of course, am joking about the earplugs (well just joking a little) but I seriously do not know what to do besides get this house sold and move into a "regular" neighborhood.

Scrapbooking and B I N G O

Last Wednesday my friend Kiki and I took a day off from being mothers and spent the day scrapbooking, playing bingo and just enjoying the time away from our boys.

Funny story about Kiki and myself - We met each other when we worked in the HR Dept. at a mortgage company. The thing is that we couldn't stand each other. We truly did not like each other. Well fast forward to 2008, Kiki found my profile on facebook and sent me a message. I replied, being the nice person that I am, and ever since then we have been best of friends. We both have little boys and Kiki's little guy, Munchi, is a few weeks older than DDT but DDT has Munchi beat by height and weight. We all get together at least twice a week and DDT says Munchi's name all the time and his face lights up when he sees him. It seems that Kiki and I have been friends forever and I am glad that we reconnected after all these years.

So after we picked up my pictures from Costco, we headed off to Scrapbooking Depot. This place is awesome! You pay $6-$7 to scrapbook all day. This also entitles you to use there cool tools. You can also go pick supplies from the store and keep a tally sheet and pay for it all after you are done. Luckily, Kiki had enough patience to help me get started. She also brought her scrapbooking supplies so we didn't have to buy too much from the store itself. I was able to make 4 pages. I have to admit that they turned out very cute. I will post some pics this afternoon.

Now on to B I N G O -

Kiki brought up the idea of playing bingo a couple of weeks ago and I was so exicted. I have wanted to play for a very long time but didn't want to go by myself. So Kiki found some places and we headed off. We found a place in Cypress and realized as we were walking in that this was going to be very, very interesting. We walked up to the counter and said "this is our first time and we have no idea what we are doing". The single tooth, meth addict told us what we needed to do. We paid $30 and picked up 2 game pads, bought dabbers (sp?) and very slowly made our way into the hall. We got there very close to game time and it didn't look like a lot of seats were available. I scanned the room and saw two seats available between 2 people that didn't look like they would bite our heads off for asking questions. We got lucky and our neighbors were VERY helpful. Let me say that bingo at a hall is not just trying to get a horizontal, vertical, or diagonal line. There are all different types of patterns and it was overwhelming at first but got easier as the games progressed. We had a great time even though we weren't winning. Well that is until I won! We were in the last round of games and I was getting close to getting a bingo. And then it happened, I GOT BINGO and so did 3 other people. We each got $62.50. I paid for my bingo game!! So now we are addicted but not so addicted that we have to play every night of the week. We are going to try and play at least once a month. Although we are going to have to work on staying up late. The game lasted 4 hours!!! We left at 10:30 while yawning but we had a great time!

So our day was a success and the boys survived the day with their dads. A big thanks to Kiki for being such a great friend, it seems like we have been friends forever and I couldn't imagine our lives without you guys.

Making an Offer

So tomorrow we will be putting an offer on a house that we love. It is going to be contingent upon the sell of our house. So we will be lowering the price on our house yet again and pray that someone sees the beauty within.

Wish us luck and keep your fingers crossed!!!!

DDT's Ultrasound Results.....

are still abnormal. WTF?!!!

A little background - During my 20 week ultrasound (u/s) they noticed that DDT's left kidney was slightly enlarged. From that point on, I was getting an u/s almost every 2 weeks. The condition was identified as hydronephorsis. For some reason it is more common in boys and typically the issue resolves itself without any medical procedure.

Of course, DDT is not the typical child and we had to do surgery last August. It was horrible and had urine draining from his side. Disgusting huh?

In March of this year we did a renal scan to see if the condition had gotten better. Well the results showed it had improved but the issue was still there. Just a few weeks ago we did a regular u/s and today I received the results via postcard.

The u/s results are still abnormal and they want us to repeat the u/s in January. It brings tears to my eyes because I keep thinking what if we have to do surgery again?

The thing that sucks is that our pediatric urologist accepted a Chief position at Loma Linda hospital. I really liked him and he took the time to clearly explain everything so I am not sure what to do. I guess, I will wait it out until the January u/s and pray that it has improved even more.

Bye, Bye Bottle and "Pet" Tricks

My big boy has finally stopped having a morning bottle. Oh my....The past two days I have given him his morning milk in a sippy cup and once that is done he asks, well grunts, for more.

Below is a funny video of DDT doing some of his tricks. Yes, we give him treats....just kidding.

Just another Friday....

NOT!!! A lovely morning hanging with the family turned into a nightmare. Panda, DDT, Hankers and I were hanging out on the bed and before we knew it DDT fell backwards and landed on his head. I got immediately picked up my crying little boy and then it happened, he stopped crying and totally stiffened up. I freaked and handed him off to Panda who then told me to call "the boys" aka. 911. I knew when he told me to call it was serious. I called 911 and gave them the info and of course, threw in that I was Mrs. Panda. Meanwhile, DDT had come around and was screaming again.

The boys arrived at the house within minutes and had Panda and DDT in route in the ambulance in no time at all. I drove to the hospital in my car as we needed a ride home. Once at the hospital they tried to get a Ct Scan but my lovely little boy did not want to lay on his back. So they tried to drug him up with Benedryl (sp) and he fell asleep but as soon as we put him on his back he woke and started wailing and screaming again. So the next option was to sedate him. The Dr. and Panda discussed it and thought it would be best not to sedate him but rather release him and keep a close eye on him as he was acting like a normal crazy 18 month old again.

The Dr. thought that when he initially fell and started crying hysterically he hyperventilated and that is what made him "pass out". I don't really care about his opinion, all I know is that I have never seen my child like that and hope I don't have to again.

So for now, our new lesson for DDT will be no standing on the bed, sofa, chairs, tables, etc and in order for this to happen, it will involve duct tape.
