6 Minute Tease

I was so excited when I saw that Rescue Me had recorded on our DVR. But wait, I thought it wasn't going to start again until March?....Hmmm, it was a MINISODE! WTF!? I want a full length episode. I want to see a full hour of Denis Leary!

I have a secret obsession with these two men (I guess it is not so secret now):

Lights Out

That last thing I remember is telling Andrew, "It's hot in here". Apparently, that is when I passed out. Let me backtrack for a moment...

A couple of months ago our good friend RABIJAY invited PANDA and myself to see his "girlfriend" Ingrid Michaelson play at the House of Blues (HOB) in Anaheim. Before the show we went out to dinner and then made our way to the HOB. After a few songs by Greg Laswell, I started to get sweaty and just feel plain ol' yucky. I figured it was the wine so PANDA and I left for the night.

Fastforward to last night....

We ate dinner at the HOB so that we could get priority sits. I only had a few cocktails and it was about the same time and I started to feel crappy again. WTF?! Greg Laswell was playing again and I started getting very hot and sweaty. I told PANDA I was hot and he told me to go outside. Well to get outside I had to walk through a crowd of people and up the stairs. So instead of doing that, I just started to fan myself. Apparently, that is when I passed out and thanks to PACHINKO, I did not land directly on the floor.

The bouncers had come over and directed PANDA and RABIJAY where to put me. The bouncers were ready to call Disney Medics but thanks to my own team of firefighters/paramedics, RABIJAY told them not to. I guess I was hyperventilating as well and my fingers were tingling. The boys finally got me outside and started putting wet rags on my neck and head. PANDA was forcing me to drink water and viola! I was aware and ready to keep going.

The bouncers were a little hesitant to let me back in but they agreed since I had my own emergency response team. The head bouncer guy gave us passes to the lounge section that has seating. PANDA being the concerned husband kept insisting that we go home but I was determined to see Ingrid.

We got to our seats and they were great! It was around 10 or so that I figured we better go home and relieve the babysitter and PANDA had to be up early to head out for a funeral for the Newport Beach firefighter that passed away.

I am not sure why it keeps happening at the HOB but PANDA says he is never taking me back there again.

So thanks to PACHINKO for not letting my "petite" body hit the ground, thanks to RABIJAY for making sure my vitals were good and thanks to my wonderful husband, PANDA, who let me accomplish my goal of seeing Ingrid in concert.

Angels and Beer

Had a GREAT time at the Angel's game on Wednesday! They did end up losing in the 10th inning but after enjoying 16 beers, hotdogs and peanuts with PANDA and McLOVIN, it didn't matter.

This is for you McLOVIN:

Playdate with Kiki and Munchi

DDT and I had a great playdate with Kiki and Munchi today. Munchi fell in love with DDT's blue car and has apparently, asked Santa to bring him one for Christmas....

It never fails but when the boys get together they end up in two different directions!

One of the few times they played near each other:

IT'S WAR!!!

That f*@king skunk had the nerve to come back into the yard tonight. The bottom part of our dutch door was closed, so before I let HANKERS out I did a quick check. Apparently, my check wasn't good enough because as soon as HANKERS was let out he saw the skunk running along the fence.

LUCKILY, the skunk moved fast and HANKERS didn't get close enough to get sprayed again.

It is now WAR on Pepe Le Pew. I am going to be setting up a trap tomorrow night and I am going to catch that skunk.

BRING IT PEPE!

Wanted: Pepe Le Pew - Dead or Alive but Preferably DEAD

Our Father's Day ended with a very stinky incident. It was around 9 or so at night and I just got home with DDT and Hankers. I put DDT down so that I could let Hankers in the backyard. As I opened the door, I saw him....Pepe Le Pew! It was too late and Hankers saw him too. Within a few moments my night turned into a living hell.

Once Hankers got the wrath of Pepe he then proceeded to run back into the house, roll around in the front room (yes where the new carpet is), then on the area rug in the living room, then onto my bed. All the while, I am holding DDT, screaming at Hankers and talking on the phone to my wonderful husband who is at work.

I am finally able to wrangle Hankers back outside. Whooo. I then get the whiff of the lovely Pepe Le Pew perfume. My house is a wreck! I then look out the door to find Hankers rolling around vigourously in my, once beautiful, flower bed. The poor dog was covered now in stink and dirt. It just keeps getting better!

Since PANDA is at work, he is trying to find skunk odor remedies online for me. He then sends our friend BAMMER to the grocery store to pick up hydrogen peroxide and baking soda. Mind you, BAMMER is on duty with the village PD. He quickly drops off the goods and informs me that you can smell the perfume for blocks. Thanks for the info!

I was finally able to put DDT down to bed around 10 or so. My next task was to mix the concoction of Peroxide, baking soda and dish detergent and give Hankers a bath. The poor dog was herded into the bathtub and given a bath. Seriously folks, that mixture worked like a charm! He does not smell of skunk at all!!

Needless to say, my house will not have any showings until the smell of Pepe Le Pew is gone. We have a carpet cleaner coming today and hopefully, the stink will be defeated. Anything that has come into contact with Hankers is in the process of being washed with baking soda.

Boy, I am ready for a stiff drink....It has to be 5 o'clock somewhere!

A Better Night

We had a great night last night. I am not admitting to drugging my child but let's say if I did give him Tylenol before bedtime, it may have helped with his sleep. DDT didn't wake until 6 or so, LOVE IT!!

Happy Father's Day!!

To my wonderful husband and awesome father of DDT and lets not forget, Hankers. You are a great man and I thank you for all your love and support!

To my dad and the grandpa of my crazy son. DDT loves you so much and loves being spoiled by you. Thanks for your love throughout the years, I am so happy that you finally have a boy to play with.

Happy Father's Day to all the other dads in the world!

Missing His Paci

Boy, oh boy last night was NOT fun at all. DDT woke up screaming at 1, 4 and 5. We tried to ignore him but eventually went in to shush him back to sleep. Please let tonight be better!

Secret Stash

DDT has a secret stash of paci's somewhere. He came out of his room with one and FREAKED out when we took it away....

We will overcome!

And the Top Chef is....

Stephanie!!! I am so happy she won and she was the first woman to win. Richard was a dumbass for admitting this was not his best cooking. And Lisa.....I have no words to explain the dislike I feel for her. She got by on luck and I am thinking the only reason they kept her was to create controversy among the viewers.

Hanging with Adults

That is what Andrew and I have been able to do the last couple of nights. Wednesday night we met up with KDog and his brother ChiTown Boy and enjoyed a lovely dinner at a restaurant called 230. Since it was PANDA's bday, the boys split the bill. How nice, we weren't expecting that at all!

Last night, we decided to hangout with MCLOVIN (or as I like to call him, Nick London), Rabijay and Rabijay's Date. We met up at PF Changs in the spectrum and enjoyed a great din-din. The food and company was so great we sat there for almost 2-1/2 hours.

Both nights we placed our beloved son in someone else's care. The first night Pebbles (Bam-Bam's sister) watched DDT for the first time and she was awesome. She seems like a Mary Poppins. Last night we had Auntie M watch him since she was upset she didn't get to watch him the night before. So she hung out and watched the Lakers lose.

It was actually very nice to get out of the house and have adult conversations for a change! We already have plans to go to an Angel game next Wednesday with Rabijay and McLOVIN.

I like this going out thing!

Day #1 - Paci Intervention

Day #1 - DDT was doing pretty good without the paci today until the afternoon. That is when we had a breakdown and wouldn't take a nap. He finally fell asleep with a little rockin' from mom.

We will see how day #2 goes.

Andrew got slimed....

well it was actually more like a mixture of apple juice, goldfish crackers and chlorinated water. As soon as we walked out of swim class today, that is was DDT unleashed on PANDA. I think it was caused by the going down the slide and swallowing half the pool at the end of the slide. Luckily, PANDA had an extra shirt in his truck because otherwise, I would have made him sit in the bed of the truck on the way home.

Note to self - No apple juice or goldfish before swim class.

Water Torture - All in the name of love

DDT went to his first swim class today and luckily Panda and I were not the ones making him cry. He cried a lot but made it through the 20 minute lesson. He is very reluctant to float on his back and definitely lets you know he is pissed off with the whole situation. Overall, he did great and we are looking forward to class tomorrow!

Monchhichi On My Mind

A Paci Intervention

On Thursday, June 12 will be conducting an intervention with DDT. We will be confronting him about his dependency on his paci. I know it will be tough and he may want to walk away but he has to know that we are doing this for him because we love him.

If he does not agree to this intervention, the following will happen:

1. Nothing, I am the parent and he will obey me! And since he is only 16 months old, I can't kick him out of my house.

I am hoping it will only take a few days to overcome this obstacle. Mind you, it will be a few days of pure hell but I think Panda and I can stomp this nasty addiction DDT has.

Wish us luck!

Truman Leroy Burton

was my grandfather (my mom's father) and I miss him dearly. He unfortunately passed away before my son was born and I think about that a lot because I know he would have loved DDT. So in honor of him we used Burton as DDT's middle name.

When my parents find a penny on the ground, they always say that Truman left it for them (because he always found pennies on the ground). Well my dad made a comment about Truman not leaving them any money around for them lately and as they were walking into a restaurant for dinner, low and behold, my dad found a penny.

Miss you Grandpa!

So I went to get in my car today and looked at my mileage. I was 59,997.1! How neat would it have been to land on 60K at my house?!

Close Calls

DDT, HANKERS and I decided it would be nice to go to Long Beach to visit with Grandma and Grandpa. We figured it would be perfect weather to take a dip in the pool. Little did I know that DDT was a little anxious to go swimming. As I was helping my father, I heard a splash and looked to my left and there was DDT in the water. With my cheetah like reflexes I yanked him out. On the inside, I was freaking out but on the outside I was telling him everything was okay just so he wouldn't freak out. So there he is on the side of the pool looking like a wet dog and get this, he was laughing and smiling. I wanted to cry because if anything were to happen to him, I would die. When it was time to actually go swimming, he kept jumping off the side of the pool into my waiting arms. Today I am going to sign him up for swim lessons.

As I was putting DDT down to rest I heard some popping noises. I ran outside and saw the fence on fire. I will admit, this was my fault and I used my limited fire fighting techniques to put out the flame. I will admit this was my fault and I am not going to say how it is, just know it is. My mom was pissed, rightfully so, and I was afraid she was going to put me in the time out chair. I knew that when I told my hubby, I was going to get it as well. Lets just say he had a few choice words.

Other than that, we had a great time, delicious dinner (thanks to me) and DDT got to spend some quality time with Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Harley and Aunt Harley.

Grandpa and DDT are almost twins with their bellies and swimming trunks:

Water Weight?

I don't give a shit what it is but I have lost 5 lbs!! Woooohooo! That is since Monday. I am sure it is water but at least it is a good push in the right direction.

My friend KIKI (previously known as RW) and I were talking yesterday about losing weight and making it a competition along with some other moms.

Off to the Zoo with No Shoes

As I pulled up to the zoo, I noticed a rather large group of elderly folks and expressed my observation to RW. She then came back to me and said she thought to herself "That is a lot of Asians". Well it turned out to be a lot of old Asians. Luckily they were leaving because we would have had to do a lot of tricky maneuvering to get through the zoo. I mean, you know how the older folks drive (imagine them walking!) and then mix it with the ....you get my drift.

DDT and I had a great play date with RW and EW at SAZOO (Santa Ana Zoo) even though I forgot to bring DDT shoes. I thought I left them in the car but my brain is just not what it used to be. So I arrived and realized the error of my ways but as they say, "The show must go on"! DDT had a great time walking in the dirt with his bare piggies.

DDT had a close call with a chicken and his index finger but other than that, it was a fun time at the zoo.

Top Chef

Since we all know that I have an issue with food, it should be no surprise that I watch Top Chef. Well last night, I was thrown for a loop!

Lisa was not voted off! WTF!!! They ended up sending Antonia home. Good gosh, what is the world coming to? Once Lisa went back with the other two (Stephanie and Richard) she had the nerve to say something along the lines of "I know you would rather have Antonia here but you could at least say Congratulations". Richard then said, "Yea, you got the bronze, Congratulations." Seriously, Lisa needs to go!

Stephanie is totally going to win and if she doesn't, I am going to have to stop watching.

Goals, schmoals

I have come to realize that I need to start setting some goals for myself. I feel like I am just living day to day with no real goals. So below are my goals for the week:

1. Walk 1 hour at least 3 days and 30 minutes on the other days.
2. Send books to my sister-in-law in Oregon
3. Lose 2 lbs
4. Have a playdate

In regards to #3 my overall goal is 36 lbs. Apparently I have an issue with food. Just last year I lost a considerable amount of weight, as did my hubby. We were exercising and eating healthy but somewhere along the way, I fell off the train and fell hard! I was so proud of myself for losing the amount of weight (50+ lbs) and I just started to eat the bad stuff again and totally stopped exercising. So now, I am trying to back into the swing of things. My payoff for the new weightloss will be the massage that my hubby bought me for Mother's Day.

Wish me luck!
